The DR-KNOW.biz website encapsulates 30+ years of INFORMATION RESEARCH, INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT, and KNOWLEDGE BUILDING. Initially the website was designed as an advertising vehicle for my (owner/operator Todd Wheatley) "claim to fame" book : "The Information eQuation" . Unfortunately the book was never formally published and the self-published sales never materialized. As the months stretched to years the DR-KNOW.biz website provided an opportunity for improving my writing skill and to post knowledge-based content.

Now there are original articles, countless blog posts, and thousands of links to BOOKs, PODCASTs, and VIDEOs : READ - LISTEN - WATCH.

The "articles" are a mix of fact based speculation, opinionated "position-papers", and information oriented knowledge. All designed to create interest in a possible run for public office. "The Ultimate Game" series finally voiced that desire while adding a playful dimension to express my sense of humor. As an "unknown quantity" much of my personal life has been included with the addition of BLOG posts and a short biography .

As part of my development as an INFORMATION SPECIALIST, the various elements have been woven together to create a vast KNOWLEDGE-BASE. Perhaps you familiar with my book, "Learn Anything In No Time"?? Well ... Probably not ... since it hasn't been published. Though there are references in this website to support it being published. More importantly, this website has been designed using the "fast learning" outlined in that book. A rich amalgam of 30+ years of INFORMATION RESEARCH, INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT, and KNOWLEDGE BUILDING. Not to mention the "borrowed" name ... DR-KNOW ... "there's nothing he doesn't" ... (movie REF - "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" 2001).

Now that you understand how & why the DR-KNOW.biz website originated and morphed, it's time to address the KNOWLEDGE BUILDING feature. Starting with the foundation: WORDs. A more advanced look into KNOWLEDGE BUILDING was addressed by "The Information eQuation" which identified discrete units if INFORMATION, but WORDs are the base of any KNOWLEDGE SYSTEM. Groups of words can form an adaptive INDEX. Then with the further application of HISTORY a BASE INDEX presents a consensus view. Examples are typically found in specific "HANDBOOKs", "GUIDEs", and the like. From there special TOPICs find relevance that lead the knowledge building effort into the FUTURE.

Beyond the BASE INDEX is a FLOW CHART or PARALLEL WORD STRUCTURE that guide the flow of information toward a desired outcome.These are the highest level of applied knowledge and generally become a part of "best practices". The DR-KNOW WEBSITE has several INDEX listings and a handful of the higher order PARALLEL WORD STRUCTUREs. The best examples include, "The Geotechnical Design Flow Chart" and the "IQ-2K INFORMATION MATRIX". These are out-takes from my book, "The Information eQuation", and are intended as the artistic expressions of KNOWLEDGE BUILDING.

The "science" of KNOWLEDGE BUILDING can be found in, "Learn Anything in No Time" and has been condensed into the MENU-DRIVEN dr-know website. Until it is published, this "help" feature will play an interim role to walk you through process. Unfortunately there is no SITE SEARCH and Google(r) seems to consider my efforts unworthy. Bing(r), on the other hand, has my website on page 2. But then again DR-KNOW is something of a rival to those websites and an upstart to be squashed.

DR-KNOW.BIZ, however, provides a (MENU-DRIVEN) KNOWLEDGE BUILDING option. Unlike the search giants which do little more than fill information holes ... and then maybe. Ironically they have everything to drive the creation of knowledge, but instead their websites promote only the most popular and profitable information. In other words, the major search engines attempt to predict "exactly" what you want and then provide the results that drive their profit margins. That's not to say the ends are mutually exclusive, but it's a total failure when your "exact" needs are multiple options and not a single perfect solution.

If you are looking for INFORMATION, the major search engines do ok ... most of the time ... maybe. Other problems require other solutions. Or maybe you just want to KNOW ... whichever the case, DR-KNOW TURNS INFORMATION INTO KNOWLEDGE and presents the user options for INPUT: READ, LISTEN, WATCH.

At some point in time the DR-KNOW.biz website has the ambition to include ALL KNOWLEDGE / everything / omnipotent ... so everyone can KNOW. Up till now (the past ten and a half years), time constraints and a meager budget have driven TOPIC inclusion on the website. While some TOPICs, like POLITICS and MEDICINE, only scratch the surface, others, like GLOBAL WARMING / CLIMATE CHANGE, have in depth resources.

The TOPICs "button" [*] on the dr-know home-page and noted links at the bottom of many pages upload a list. Other less developed topics are scattered throughout the three input-driven categories:

Some TOPICs may only be referenced with LINKs to governmental departments, places of learning, institutes, associations, and so on. The final piece of "LEARN ANYTHING IN NO TIME" paradigm comes from the inclusion of [CURRENT EVENTS], historical [TIMELINEs] and scholarly speculation on the [FUTURE]. Hopefully the logic guiding the development of this website will be complimented by "LEARN ANYTHING IN NO TIME" when becomes available.
